I'm thinking of getting a zoo going...

You've met Martha the Giraffe. Here's Alfred the Duck and Betsy the Okapi.
More to follow.

"It talks to me about being sure-footed in the maze of life. No doubt, this life is replete with mazes and labyrinths of change - but the giraffe is a steady reminder of getting through the twisty curves of life with elegance and dignity."

Snoopers Paradise

it is only when your surroundings become familiar that you stop paying attention to them.

Most people read books or sleep when the weather is like this.

I want to capture the world and put it in my pocket for safe keeping.

My relationship with video is bittersweet. The gadgets and technologies that seem to be ever-present in our lives distract us from the monotony and mundane nature of getting from A to B. By presenting my drawings on the very digital technologies that seek to distract from the world around us, it draws attention to how we have become accustomed to viewing and recording experiences, “Today people don’t draw very much. They use the camera” – David Hockney

The interplay between memory and experience, the filtering process in which we  seemingly edit out moments which we don’t hold of any importance, “You've seen these things thousands of times before, and they're not beautiful or fascinating, they're just... ordinary.” – Steve Taylor. So ordinary that you stop paying attention to it.

The ethereal, fleeting nature of the video does not allow you to focus on anything long enough to make sense of it. You are left feeling disorientated, trying to catch and hold on to anything that you can remember. The video is looped, relentless and unchanging. The physicality of the journey is made apparent through the string snaking across the floor, so no matter how lost you may get through the screen, you can always find your way home.
